Wear decides to show an example of Nero XIX (an enemy that nearly killed Nakano back in "Fear State") as completely rehabilitated. After Arkham Aslyum was blown up and Scarecrow nearly took over Gotham City, Mayor Nakano decides to create Arkham Tower in order to treat prisoners instead of punish them. The main story is told in a nonlinear fashion. Chase Meridian admires Nightwing's courage for wanting to rehabilitate criminals and plans to support Nightwing. Nightwing gets in a confrontation with police officers, and a therapist name Dr. Nightwing and Batman manage to find Peter Faust after determining where he got inspiration for his costume and prevent him from committing suicide. While the police are escorting Peter Faust, their car explodes and Peter Faust is captured by a mysterious group of people. Nightwing and Batman apprehend Peter Faust, where Nightwing asks Batman why cant they send irredeemable people to better prisons in order to prevent them from hurting other people. Nightwing and Batman investigate with Nightwing wondering if Arkham Aslyum is even effective since that is where the Bat Family just lock criminals without rehabilitating them. In the present day, Lucius Fox meets with representatives of Mayor Nakano (Gotham City's new mayor) in discussion of creating Arkham Tower to rehabilitate criminals since Arkham Asylum is not seen as effective. Main plot Prelude īatman remembers the time when Thomas Wayne tried to save a mentally ill individual name Peter Faust after they tried to murder him and his wife when Bruce was young. It was also revealed that Batman will leave Gotham City temporarily in order to deal with a new villain called Abyss, leaving the Bat-Family in charge of Gotham City. John Rauch's colors go a long away towards giving Gotham that eerie, haunted glow that defines the city. After the announcement of James Tynion IV departure from Batman after Fear State, DC Comics announces the event, where Batman and his allies must deal with a new villain and how the Arkham Tower will cause a split between the Bat Family. His background figures tend to be flat and lacking in detail, but he renders dynamic action sequences and injects his characters with a healthy range of emotion and expression. Despite the franchise's sometimes questionable character designs, Viktor Bogdonavic provides a solid set of pages in this issue. I only wish Bane's character design in these games wasn't so ridiculous. And Tomasi handles Bane's voice and his rivalry with Batman well, something that can't be said for all Batman writers. Still, it's fun to see the new Batmobile in action. They emphasize action more than characterization. These chapters aren't quite as compelling from a dramatic standpoint.
BATMAN ARKHAM CITY REVIEW ANGRY JOE SERIES
The following two chapters kick off the lengthiest storyline Pete Tomasi has attempted with this series to date, as Bane becomes to latest power player to emerge in the post-Arkham City climate. It's also a treat to see Barbara given the spotlight as Oracle again.

Whether the comic will be able to give this story thread the focus it deserves remains to be seen, but this chapter makes for a good start. The idea that Gordon is the only public figure the people of Gotham actually trust makes sense. That's a story I'd be thrilled to read in a normal Batman comic. The first chapter included in this issue focuses mainly on non-costumed characters, as Bruce and Barbara Gordon try to convince Commissioner Gordon to pursue a political career. DC's Arkham Knight comic stands out less because of its connection to the video game series and more because of the compelling stories it offers featuring a wide range of Gotham characters. The fifth issue is no exception, combining a major showdown between Batman and Bane with more grounded drama as Bruce Wayne continues his quest to pull his city kicking and screaming from the shadows.
